Kentucky Downs will host (5) five, action packed, live horse racing days:
September 1st, 6th, 8th, 9th, and 13th.
They are planning a ton of activities for the whole family. The (2) two Saturday’s and Sunday September 9th are Family Fun Days. Some of the planned activities will include face painting, horse rides, and a petting zoo. This is a super cool idea! I know that our families will be taking advantage of this area on Saturday September 8th. We hope to meet some of you there.
If you are a little too old for the petting zoo they are also having an awesome tailgating area. Bring your own tents, coolers, and grills - Bring the ball game experience to the horse track!
We will be there having a great time on opening day. Come join us!
On Thursday September 6th, Hall of Fame Jockey Mike Smith will be at the track signing autograph’s to support a very inspirational organization - Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farms. These are great people here and after our tour this past Sunday; we are fans for life. If you have a chance to visit Old Friends of Kentucky Downs I would certainly encourage you to take a tour.
Our tour guide was Amazing! The horses were Amazing. The facility was Amazing!
You can’t keep us away from donating some money to Old Friends and getting a sweet signed picture of Mike Smith in return. You should too.
If you are a college student you will want to be in attendance on Sunday September 9th. They are giving away multiple $1500 scholarships and (10) ten Microsoft Surface Pro tablets. Wow!
In addition, they are giving away an unspecified number of prize packs which should increase your chances of winning significantly. Registration starts at 1pm so be on time. It could be your lucky day. Winners will be drawn after every race. Good Luck!
In summary, Kentucky Downs Live Racing is such a unique event to attend. There will be $10M awarded in purse money during the five days of racing. This is among the highest daily payouts in the world. Come be a part of the action. Watch horse racing, tailgate, win money, bring the kids, etc. There is actually no real reason not to come. We can’t wait.
As always…see you at the races!
